7/13/17 driving tour to Dyea, AK

Dyea is a ghost town near Skagway. Many gold rushers started on the Chilkkot Trail here. An avalanche wiped out the town and it never recovered.  I really wanted to go to the actual site but the tour vehicle wasn't licensed to go in the National Historical Site. That was a disappointment but I still appreciated the tour. Dyea Dave was to be our guide.  He recently started treatment for a major health issue. We had to be creative to arrange a Plan B tour to Dyea.
